As some of you know, and some of you might not care, I came from a place in Georgia where you are either a good ole’ boy semi-law-abiding-citizen, or the other kind. I was the other kind. At an early age, lets call it 17, I got involved in “the wrong crowd”, and I went strait downhill. Long story short, from 17-30 on drugs every day, and 3 rehabs later, and almost 2 years of sobriety, I have the most wonderful life I could imagine.
All my life I watched my mom and dad struggle and battle bills, and scrimp and save just to make ends meet. Don’t get me wrong, they did a hell of a job keeping mys sister and I in clothes, and making sure we had enough food. Now that I have a family of my own, I see just how hard it must have been, and I only have one child to care for.
Never mind the fact that I write at a site called Registered Evil, and I go to church as often as I can, I have been truly blessed with a healthy baby, a wife that worships me with her love, and job that just promoted me so that my salary alone is enough for us to live very comfortably, and my wife who works at a local hospital caring for newborns. Just this month, after a year of struggling, my wife and i – and for the first time in my life – don’t have to live paycheck to paycheck anymore. We don’t have to decide between paying our bills, and getting diapers for our child – and let me tell you, there is no greater feeling in the world than being able to provide whatever our baby needs. So to all that stuck by my side while I got my shitte together, and to my beautiful wife, from the depths of my heart —- Thank You!
