71% of almost 1 million voters in the state voted for us to Opt out of Proposition C (we reviewed it here)
Final numbers in what will be one of the most watched Senate elections in the US?
- Robin Carnahan with 264,742 votes
- Roy Blunt with 409,806 votes
And just for fun I want to point out something that will tweak a lot of folks.
I listen to NPR primarily for my news. That said, the local NPR and Fox News is the only one’s I have found who is running a head line regarding Proposition C.
Not MSNBC (who seems to think surfers are more important than primary elections)
Not CBS News who is still talking about the oil spill. Yes the same oilspill we’ve had for over 2 months. Slow News day I guess.
Not ABC who apparently was drinking the same Kool Aid as CBS
Not CNN either who is bandying between the FBI arguing with Wikipedia and, you guessed it, the oil spill.
While the local NPR had it covered, the National NPR felt the Kansas primary was more entertaining and…of course…the oil spill.
And no articles are shown via Google, just a few newspapers and some other bloggers like myself.
Could it be that the more Mainstream Media is either A: trying to downplay the whole thing, or B: understand they may have backed a losing horse?
I’ll leave it to conspiracy theorists. Me I find it funny that almost every major media outlet is covering something that has been going on for most of the year….while a landmark, public vote, on one of the most publicly touted and hard fought bills of the year is being mostly ignored.
Interesting.
