From 1820 to 1860 the Irish were never less than the 3rd largest group of emigrants to American shores. The potatoe famine being the largest cause, the lack of jobs and starvation sent them scrambling for hope elsewhere.
The Irish civil war of the 1920′s sent many Irish to foreign borders again, families such as my own came to America to escape the violence. My current remaining family residing in Ireland is even considering leaving.
Best quote on what should have taken place re: White House reaction?
Dear Wikileaks,
If you publish any more material we will hunt you down no matter the cost, and you either will be killed while resisting arrest or you will spend the rest of your lives in solitary confinement in a Supermax prison, where the highlight of your day will be 1 hour spent in a cage instead of your cell. Don’t look up, that sound of propellers in the air is not a Predator drone.
Sincerely,
Harold Koh
Here’s my biggest issue that I would really love to get in to but a tiny keyboard prevents me from: When Wiki Leaks released their first salvo back in October there was some outrage, but the our government rolled over and played dead.
So effectively what your saying is soldiers lives don’t matter: but government bureaucrats are sacred. When you knew a month ago that the Wikileaks crew were going to do so again and you took no action save for a sternly worded letter.
Once upon a time the dream of immigrants was American Citizenship.
I hereby declare, on oath, that I absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince, potentate, state, or sovereignty of whom or which I have heretofore been a subject or citizen; that I will support and defend the Constitution and laws of the United States of America against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I will bear arms on behalf of the United States when required by the law; that I will perform noncombatant service in the Armed Forces of the United States when required by the law; that I will perform work of national importance under civilian direction when required by the law; and that I take this obligation freely without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; so help me God
However, one city, one state at a time, that is rapidly becoming unnecessary. Furthermore those of us whom actually are citizens are paying the price of the disenfranchisement, as well as the price tag of the benefits of not being an American citizen.
Get ready ladies and gentlemen, because this is where the metal meets the meat.
Smell the sweat, and the bad breath. Arizona has two choices here: fight or flight. Somehow given the problems they are having and the lack of the federal government to do..well..anything….fight will be their option. I can’t see them going quietly in to that good night, not at this stage. Further since a majority of Americans supported this law, it casts a very grim light on our federal government system.
This could get extremely ugly folks. Think secession ain’t a possibility? Think again. Anything is possible when you start talking about governmental sovereignty and the protection of citizens.
And it applies to more than just Arizona. Sarah Boltons ruling paves the way for illegals to come and openly seek and take jobs in the United States.

12 Million Americans are out of work and this Administration just opened the flood gates for another country to come and take the jobs we do have without those individuals paying a solitary dime in taxes.
Furthermore this brings up a very ugly reality about both our judicial-ship and our current administration:
They don’t care about you and I.
Just about the possible votes they can get and staying in office.
However there is a silver lining in all this.
If states are not allowed to enforce federal law, based on this judges reasoning does that mean states will not have to enforce ObamaCare to its residency?
And that the said Constitution be never construed to authorize Congress to infringe the just liberty of the press, or the rights of conscience; or to prevent the people of the United States, who are peaceable citizens, from keeping their own arms; or to raise standing armies, unless necessary for the defense of the United States, or of some one or more of them; or to prevent the people from petitioning, in a peaceable and orderly manner, the federal legislature, for a redress of grievances; or to subject the people to unreasonable searches and seizures of their persons, papers or possession
Samuel AdamsDebates and Proceedings in the Convention of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, 1788 (Pierce & Hale, eds., Boston, 1850)
In the last decade there has been a disturbing trend in American politics.
Lawsuits, civil suits, court hearings, recounts, and accusations.
Poor losers in all respects and on both sides of the aisle.
But the one that annoys me the most is the calls to “unpatriotic” accusations from both parties.
Patriotism is not a slogan. it’s not a 10 second media add on your TV after your evening News. It is something that men and women of every color and creed, of all denominations and of no denominations, as well as those of all political aspects have died for. It isn’t something to be used to rally people in some Braveheart stylization to a call that otherwise would go unnoticed.
However media moguls, and politicians of the modern era use it, not as a source of pride, as a sense of nationalism, but rather as a tool to divide, and to dissuade. That is not the way to unite a country.
Thats 221 Billion with a capital “B” boys and girls in 30 days.
Spending was $328 billion. We have a income of $107 Billion. That means we are spending almost three times what we as a country are earning.
In simple terms if you and your spouse, or you by yourself make $50,000 a year. This would be the equivalent to you spending $150,000 a year.
What would happen to you?
Credit cards?
Interests rate?
Bill Collectors?
Foreclosure?
Bankruptcy?
Take it another step. the federal Government could go to every man woman and child in America right now and ask us for $2,000 this month. We would only just pay that money.
But they would still not have enough for next month.
Another comparison. Greece and Dubai are both in severe unrest with $20 Billion dollars in the hole. That is built up over years.
We just blew through that about 110 times. In 30 days.
Effectively we are spending $2 for every dollar that the US Government earns.
There is nothing balanced about this. There is nothing logical about this. There is nothing even sane about this.
I’m not a Accountant. I do have a degree in Business Management. I can read profits, losses, and see trends. I’m not an expert but I’m not a drooling idiot either.
Folks we need to wake up and fast. This is a road to ruin, not profit.
Congress raised the debt ceiling by $300 billion in December. In late January, they voted to raise it again by $1.9 trillion. The Congressional Budget Office says they ran through that $1.9 trillion by the end of February.
This means that the record breaking deficit we just had? It can be broken, and broken in to small tiny pieces.
Want another example to show you just how serious this is?
The US Government Bailed out General Motors for practices similar to this because it was on the verge of collapse.
Ranger Coffee is my choice for high octane coffee. It'll put hair on your chest, and probably other places your not used to or expecting to have it!
