This morning, I saw what I thought was a traffic helicopter, it was not.

“Truck, Car Crash Into 3 Buckhead Storefronts”

ATLANTA — A truck and a car crashed into a total of three storefronts on Roswell Road near the Buckhead Theater on Monday morning.  The southbound lanes of Roswell Road at Peachtree Street in Buckhead were blocked just before 7 a.m. because of the crash.  Police said the driver of a box truck and a woman driving a Toyota Camry both thought they had a green light and collided.  Officials said the driver of the truck hit two businesses when he spun out of control on Roswell Road. The driver of the Camry hit one business.  The Camry caught on fire after the collision. The female driver suffered minor injuries, but was not transported to a hospital, police said.  Fire trucks blocked Roswell Road.  Atlanta police said the driver of the truck was transported to area hospital in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.

Thanks Honda!  (insert heavy sarcasm here)

Yesterday, I left the lights on in my Honda Accord.  Now the battery has been acting weird for a week or so now, and me leaving the lights on pretty much sealed the deal.

Long story short, while my son waited for my parents and myself to jump start the car, he got bit by a mosquito several times, and then we went and purchased a new battery.

Not fun enough?  Not for yours truly!

After the battery was installed, and we were on our way home, I was reprogramming the clock, then went to turn on the radio..

Nice. I don’t know the dang code.  So there I go punching in random numbers like 12345, and 11111, and 66666.  Much to my chagrin, I only had 10 tries.

CODE _ E

That means ERROR, and also that my radio is locked.  The “owners manual” says first, *not* to try random numbers, as you only have 10 tries.  Oops.  Then it says that if you have used up all 10 tries, you must go to the Honda Dealership and get them to unlock it.

Dang it.

So in conclusion, this will end up costing me far more than the initial price of the battery, and for that I thank you, Honda, from the bottom of my boot, to the top of your head

Like most how not to own car editorials it is written purely for people who live in cities.

Those of us who live in rural parts of America pretty much can not do any of these things.

Blackfive has the best run down of the scenario

When you jump into the political ring, you know (and Nick and April Popaditch know) that politics can get dirty.  You expect attacks on your politics, your conduct of your life, etc.

But you don’t expect the media to attack you war wounds with an editorial cartoon…you don’t really expect a blatant disrespect for your service…like this cartoon that appeared in Saturday’s (July 10th) edition of the Imperial Valley Press:

Heaven forbid the media actually address issues.  But then, when has the media ever actually been about balanced, and unbiased rhetoric?
