It’s also my last day at my current job.
Between the new job, surviving the deadly storms of last night, and just maybe a little something new to blog about, inspired by several storm-chasers and other NOAA Spotters I have networked with via Twitter, this is a good thing. A New dawn so to speak.
That’s right Ladies and Gentlemen!
It’s Friday!
That time of the week when we realize we are almost done with the madness, almost complete in our grind and that soon, very very soon, we can all kick back, relax and otherwise pretend for 48 blissful hours that none of this garbage matters!
You’re alive. Do something. The directive in life, the moral imperative was so uncomplicated. It could be expressed in single words, not complete sentences. It sounded like this: Look. Listen. Choose. Act.
Barbara Hall
So c’mon now, get ready to kick up your heels! Get ready to live a little and most of all, enjoy life! Thanksgiving is almost upon us after all, so for those of us working, be thankful you got a job. For those of you not, be thankful you don’t have the long hours, merciless paperwork, and irritating bosses and we pray you join us once again soon!
It’s that time of week again, the one where our time of servitude, mindless paper pushing agony or greasy truck wheels is over!
12 hours until beer thirty and we can join the Window-Down, Foot-Down, gear-jammin, clutch-bangin, corner-squealin-mad-rush-to-the-Posarnada-so-we-can-grab-a-beer-and-call-it-a-weekend-medicine-club!
In honor of VALOUR-IT something for my fellow Warriors!
“Yesterday at the beginning of the ground war Iraq had the fourth largest army in the world. Today they have the second largest army in Iraq”
- Attributed to General H. Norman Schwarzkopf, regarding Gulf War I
And some jammin tunes for my fellow Warriors!
But as you grab your car keys and head for the door, remember this I ask:
Somewhere a soldier, sailor or airman is lying flat on their back. They can’t write. Or type. They can’t operate a phone. They are pushing, working, struggling to regain a part of themselves that quite possibly they may never get back again.
Soldiers Angels, and VALOUR-IT help them. You can help them. We can help them.
So as you put your ride in to gear, and crank the CD player, before you lay that $20 on the bar for the first round. Make it a $10 today.
We’re there folks!
The end of the week! 8 hours of indentured servitude for a 40 hour week paycheck fantasy that we work 55 hours to have!
It’s all over at the whistle!
Early to rise and early to bed makes a male healthy and wealthy and dead.
James Thurber
There’s football to watch this weekend, beer to drink, cigars to smoke and deer to hunt!
Have you ever gotten a song stuck in your head? Something annoying, you keep singing it in your mind or softly to yourself, and can’t get it to stop? Well, my friends, that’s your Brain Radio….
Welcome to mine!
TGIF Edition!
So….Here at ®Evil, we had a little bet on the UGA Vs. UT game, and I have a very special song on my mind this morning! Here he is folks, Our own BloodSpite: in a live performance of Glory to Georgia!
ITS FRIDAY!
FRIIIIDAY!
FRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII……Day!
As always we follow our usual mix of Quotes, and Music!
For my boys in orange this weekend, and for my friends (as well as myself) who struggle with the day:
Always bear in mind that your own resolution to succeed is more important than any one thing.
Abraham Lincoln
Also this coming Monday will start a new tradition here at Registered Evil. In Following with Twitters practice of Military Monday, we’ll be hosting a selection from our collection of Military *ahem* Motivational posters every Monday. We’ll also be opening up a group E-mail so you can contact me or v00d3w to submit your own posters, or to write in and ask for a topic to be covered.
On to Music!
Since Tennessee is playing Louisiana tomorrow I think some Blues is called for. I can think of nothing better than John Legend, who is more recently playing with the Hip Hop group The Roots. The game is gonna be rough, so this song should work out perfectly.
Be sure to check out their collaboration album Wake up!, it is in a word: awesome.
Ranger Coffee is my choice for high octane coffee. It'll put hair on your chest, and probably other places your not used to or expecting to have it!
